Intro to White noise is a relaxing transition into white noise based on the idea of simple repetition and singular chord harmony.
The track starts with an open G-chord, repeating indefinitely into white noise at a dotted eighth note interval. This process is known as an ‘analog bucket brigade style delay or repeat,’ much like the sound of water dripping into a bucket - the signal degenerates with each repeat.
The G-chord, and a series of chord harmonies, repeat all the way up to the transition at slower and slower intervals while the pitch gets higher. Each repeat in the right ear happens at two times the speed of the original note, causing the pitch to jump up an entire octave with each repeat creating a natural cascading harmony.
The intent behind this piece was to seamlessly (and peacefully) transition from relaxing, to white noise. Perfect for deep sleep or a nap.
